What to Expect During the Design Process

How exciting to be designing your own cabinets and preparing their color, style and function! It’s an interesting process to be a part of!  How will the design process proceed? What is the role of the designer?  Let’s take a look at what to expect during this process.  

At Shrock Cabinets we have several highly skilled designers on staff who are ready to work with you to create your dream cabinets.  They will be happy to meet with you, listen to your desires, get an understanding of your budget and timeline, show you samples, and walk through the whole process with you.  

Upon meeting with a designer, it is extremely beneficial to have in hand several ideas, and pictures that have already inspired you. Knowing what cabinet colors, finishes and functional elements you like are also helpful.  At this point, our designer will recommend different styles and trim, as well as functional components. 

Our Shrock Cabinet designers will need to take measurements and notes of windows, entryways, and existing appliances, closets, and other room features. These will strongly affect the design of your cabinets.  

The designer will then make a sketch or digital perspective to go with the specific room’s floor plan. From this point, you can make any changes with the designer prior to your cabinet plan moving to the manufacturing process.
